Thanks for the info. I have two years to wait before my warranty is up and then this will be something to seriously consider!

evolvedaz 11-11-2005 03:54 PM

ya the kit is just amaizing!

yetis 11-11-2005 04:44 PM

warranty? on the engine? How much is install?

evolvedaz 11-11-2005 06:07 PM

1 year with unlimited miles for the warrenty
30 hours for install time!

Is the motor warrantied or the puffer? Probably the latter, at least the price is headed inthe right direction.
Is it just me, or does it look slightly cobbled? I saw a TPC kit on a 993, looked slick, very fast and reliable.

evolvedaz 11-12-2005 03:26 AM

no the motor is not warrantied just the super charger kit. For the price this is at and the horse power gain you recieve its a sweet deal!!!

Would never consider a SC for my car but is it just me or is this kit look nothing like the EVO kit that costs the same? Just not very good looking compared to it's "competition". Here is a pic of the EVO kit.

Dan....why did you decide to go with TPC and not EVO? Just curious as I am not bashing or endorsing either. But that first pic you posted looks like the SC is held together by yellow duct tape or something and the rest is just cold metal welded together. I am sure it is just fine but just trying to understand why one product looks like it was just thrown together in somebody's garage and the other looks like some serious money went into aethetic design as well.

Dell, nothing wrong with a little duct tape. That how we install our bodykits.

Can I get the tape paint to sample? :roflmao:

I will admit, it's not the best looking piece. That said, I don't think I will dismiss it just yet, as I don't think aesthetics are really important to engine mods? I always thought the chrome SC of the EVO was a bit much, almost trying to cover up for something it might be lacking. (flame suit on!)

Separately, I am debating on whether a EVO/TPC at $15k installed is better than a RUF at $20k installed. Is a warranty and RUF plate, worth $5k????

LVDell 11-12-2005 07:05 PM

Chris, I thought the EVO/TPC kits were about $10K installed?

AG996LV 11-12-2005 08:50 PM

I think it's 10K + install (about 3K). 13000 or so.

yetis 11-12-2005 09:55 PM

LV, the $10k does not include install for the EVO. I guess the labor is a bit of a wild card.

LVDell 11-12-2005 09:59 PM

Thanks Chris. But, seriously....30hrs install time? I thought somebody quoted less than 10hrs recently. I'll have to do some searching to verify I read that.
