We played hooky from work Tuesday morning to go see the remarkable wildflower bloom in the Anza Borrego Desert. Depart at the crack of dawn, through the mountains at sunrise, back by noon to do some work. The car was fine, I am getting better at Tip shifting. The appearance of the front end in someone's rear view mirror must be somewhat intimidating since a lot of them pulled over to let us by. It was great, the first longer fun drive, this car performs really well. (except: I am still studying all of the posts here about keys and the alarm / lock system).

The side skirts appear to be OEM Aero II, but the painted lip spoiler is definitely aftermarket.

911Syncro - how do you like driving the Tiptronic versus a manual? I've heard it's sluggish...I've also heard it's just as fun. Thoughts?

I can tell you:

The MK1 tip is somewhat sluggish, only 5 shift modes. The MK2 tips have 250 or 500 shift modes, I forgot. Both suck in "A" mode, unless you are stuck in traffic. Then, they are a pure joy.

99 % of people who rag on a tip have never driven one.
