Nothing like the images posted on first page (only the intro. movie is that clear)
The lap setup for the wheel is not stable, i'll be attaching it to a table this evening....so far I only played the single arcade mode. Yet, I think it will keep me interested for more than the usual few days.

You can get the component cables most places that will sell the PS2 (walmart, gamespot, bestbuy,etc.). I got mine hooked up to the downstairs 55 HDTV (my wife was not happy the PS2 left the bonus room, but hey, what the heck). My problem is that my TV only has one HDTV component input, and that is occupied by the cable box! I hooked it into the regular component input, and all I got was 480p (which isn't that bad, but not 1080i). Anyone know if you can get a switch box for DTV component inputs (or would any component selector work)?
Also, anyone built there own racing cockpit - I want to build a racing seat and cockpit for the wheel/pedals and am looking for ideas?
thanks, enjoy the game

Nick--Apologies--I didn't read closely enough...Just didn't want a flame war to start up over someone happy about the GT4 game only to be thrown to the wolves for liking it because of someone else's opinion...

I'm using component cables and running the game at 1080i. There is an issue with many PS2 systems getting blurry/distorted. This happens with one of my PS2s, but not the other. The issue is widely talked about on my GT4 forums.
Here are pics of my GT4 set-up. The seat is made my Playseat and it is awesome!

^ i'll have to agree with kirby on this one. i've managed to log a dozen or so hrs on the game at a friends house and while the physics are still very good, features are ample and some of the tracks awsomely fun (grand canyon, and that one where you race thru the small italian town with houses on either side is reminescent of the targa florio) i just didn't find it as destinctive from the previous game.
don't get me wrong, its still a very very fun game, but like he said, not enough sense of speed, and it just doesnt destinguish itself from GT3 enough. graphically its pretty good, not the be all and end all mind you, but racing isn't always about gfx (granted i havn't had a chance to play it in 1080i yet but never the less it isn't as great as those preview shots were).
futhermore, my favorit car, the 787B is te most expensive car in the game, it'll take me years to get enuff cash to buy that.

Riotgear,
Is that set-up stable? I thought about that one, but am nervous that it is not stable when using the wheel/pedals. Also, is it adjustable so that different people can adjust to their height? Also, Walmart sells that set-up, but maybe only mailorder.
FYI - my game/ps2 is very shaky at times, as if it shakes, then settles. I am wondering if it is my ps2 console (I guess it is). I'm running the component (480p) cables, and might try s-video to see if it clears this up. Anyone know if there is a component selector box to switch between the HDTV cable box and the PS2 for a TV with only one DTV component input?
