Default Where can a guy get an alignment done around here?

I've taken the car to 2 shops so far, and both have said that they don't have the right tools to perform an alignment on the rear wheels, and they are both almost 1 degree off (I'm assuming that's pretty bad).

Do I need to go to a Porsche dealership to do this, or would Sears or another big brand be able to do it? Anyone have recommendations for the Pittsburgh Area (south hills)?

You want to look for a shop that has a Hunter System. Tire Barn, Discount Tire......or call Hunter and ask them for shops with that equipment in your area. http://www.hunter.com/company/offices/index.cfm

Scorchpa, this is weird. I came on this morning planning to ask the exactly same question. I spoke to the hunter rep - he recommended Colussy Chevrolet due to the fact that there system is recessed so no clearance issues. Yet to call them

Almost all decent shops have laser versions now which you should be looking for as well. In addition to looking for shops with Hunter equipment, make sure to look for ones that have the updated alignment sensor brackets. These attach to the tires and not directly to the rim if you don't want to sacrifice scratching your wheels.

Too funny....

I had heard good things about Bruce Brothers.... spent 1 hour waiting, and they returned the car saying they couldn't adjust the rears, but adjusted the fronts (which were only about 0.2 degrees off)... at least they didn't charge me.

Let me know what you find out about Colussy.

The rep also told me that Calabro in Bower Hill is Hunter equipment. John Raysich told me he sends all his work to Calabro. I called them they charge $100 and are booked into next week.

Great... I'll probably try out Calabro.

Calabro was great - balanced and aligned in about 1 hour. Cost was as advertised.

Just got my appointment with them (ya things have been busy) for 2 weeks from now. Going to get a balance done as well since there was some pretty bad vibrations last time I had it on I79.

How much did they charge?
