Help ID'ing a bolt - have a leak
Greetings to the group. My '99 996 has sprung a bit of an oil leak and I'm wondering if anyone can help me ID this bolt so I can find the torque specs, please? The imago on the left is just one I found here. The smaller image on the right is my car. FWIW, the engine was recently pulled out for a bunch of repairs, so I imagine this part was disassembled and reassembled. I mention this because the seal or gasket behind it should be new ... thus me hoping it might just be a bolt torque issue. Thanks in advance!

Its a cam cover bolt so u may have to remove, clean and reseal. I doubt just tightening will fix it because the sealant bond is broken.
3.6l motor is 13nm or 9.5 ft-lb, i think the 3.4l is the same.

This is a camshaft cover bolt. torque value 13 Nm (9.5 ft-lb).
if it were me, I would remove the bolt, clean the thread, and put the bolt back with a dub of RTV (Loctite 5900 or equivalent), and keep my fingers crossed.
if the com cover was removed, there is a chance it was not sealed properly.

yep, unfortunately the cam cover has to come off and the sealant replaced.
I've use the Dreibond and Hondabond. Hondabond is readily available and currently sealing my cam covers without a drop!
