Default Tiptronic question.

Hello I am trying to find out if there is a way to have the Tiptronic go into 1st gear instead of 2nd every time you shift into drive. Or do I just have to do it manually every time?

Thanks

Any special reason to try to force it into 1st gear - it's normal to start with 2nd gear.

I want to start in 1st gear. I do not like the starting in 2nd. It just does not make sense to me to start in 2nd.

You have to select first manually if you want to start in first or absolutely punch it. That is the only time the computer has it start in first. That is how the MB trans work. It's kinda a similar idea to the granny gear in a lot of old school pick-ups. It isn't needed for an ordinary start, but it's there for when you need that extra grunt to get going.

Just tap either button down. It will go to 1st.

Well I guess this is not an issue for anyone. I personally hate it. I like the comparison to old school pickups granny gear it hurts just a little more.
