EPA noise testing notice!
Hi guys, I Have been issued with a testing notice for my 996.2 From the EPA. Has anyone ever been through the process before?
I have been looking everywhere for the stock decibel reading for a 911 996.2 and can't find anything anywhere, please help.

I Live in Melbourne Australia. From what I can tell it's all original but if it fails and I can't rectify by a certain time my car will become deregistered. They will not release any info to me about who the police officer is or any evidence it's absolutely crazy!!

I would recommend you go to a Porsche dealership and have them do a visual inspection of your cars exhaust . Tell the dealership you need written documentation that the car meets all exhaust specs for your model year . Then present that info to law enforcement . It may cost some $$$ for the inspection but it's better than losing the registration .
I have to ask , do you have Harley Davidson or similar where you live ? I find it hard to believe your car is louder than a Harley . Good luck and let us know the results .

I would also do a google search online specific to your country laws and such. It could be that even a stock Porsche could exceed some decibel meter threshold at 7,000 RPM under certain conditions. But like in the post above, have a Porsche certified expert provide the proof.

Wow! Please don't share the link. Some group in CA will pick it up. CARB already has way too much power: but we do have clean air!! (when there isn't a fire)
How do they notify you that you need to get checked? It looks like they can cite you out on the street. Is it part of registration?

It’s already happening in CA. This is with a brand new Hyundai.

That's why G-d invented lawyers!. If they had tested it properly it would have passed.

The officer was a proper **** deregistering his car on the spot, and not giving him a fix-it ticket. He created an unnecessary financial and personal burden for the owner, who will have to go to court to figure this out while his car is not legally driveable.
