Crankshaft bolt seized
Ok, any safe ideas how to remove that crankshaft bolt. That flywheel plate is secured with flywheel locking tool.
Tried with stubby impact wrench (Milwaukee M12) - no go.
Put 24mm wrench there and knock that with a small sledgehammer - no go.
Tried carefully with 3ft breaker bar - no go.
I'm trying to avoid using too much force (hitting that wrench withsledgehammer was causing some sweating...) because I don't know how that force is affecting internal parts (twist crank for example)

Put the locking pin in the crank pulley also.
You said you used an impact driver? Do you mean some 1/4" rinky dink thing or an impact wrench. Id use a big boy half inch impact and it should come right off

Have you tried a gas torch? If someone added red threadlock that might explain it, heat will soften the loctite. You might end up damaging the crankshaft seal but I think that can be replaced easily?

I had it there initially but removed as there's a risk of cracking that case ?
Ah, meant impact wrench - language issue Milwaukee stubby impact wrench M12 1/2"
Not yet - so if I use torch there's a risk of damaging that seal?

Get a 1/2" drive impact gun and a 1/2" drive twelve (12) point impact socket. Lock the crankshaft pulley, then the flywheel. I would not use any heat because of heat expansion of the bolt and to protect the seal. My two cents...

I have this one Milwaukee M12 FIWF12-422X so I would assume that this would/should be enough - that 12 point socket is a good idea if I can find it relatively easily.

Are you sure a 12 pt is stronger than a 6? 6 point should have more contact area
