Ordered, received, and installed ! Great mount and super easy to install. Still deciding on the cable routing as I got the cutout version and deciding if I use a 45 degree angle connector or black vs white cable to satisfy my ocd tendencies . - Scrh1

Anyone know where I can get a ball mount with this type of slide in adapter? This has a ball mount but way too small
Current setup. I want to move the car-play unit to the hazard trim but I need the piece with a ball mount to attach it to!

What magnetic phone Mount?
Yaz's hazard trim-mount is top notch. I've bolted on two different ESR HaloLock magnet mounts and neither of them will hold the phone (iPhone XR) on hard acceleration, bumps or sudden turns (that's the way 911s are driven---not changing).
Is anyone having better luck with either of these two mounts?
This is the iPhone XR case I've purchased, is there a better case?
I'd really like to use a magnetic phone mount if possible. Any better suggestions?

Update, Anker makes a HaloLock stick on magnetic ring that grips super tightly to the ESR mounts. The iPhoneXR cases I'd purchased have a non-magnetic ring and barely held the ESR. Anker's magnet ring works great with the ESR and Yaz's mount.

Mount base in aluminum and glass filled nylon.
The nylon version has a textured look. The gaps have been tightened up since this first set of test pieces.
The aluminum finish is very close that on the X98 braking brake. This is without any anodizing.

I FINALLY had time to install mine.
Smoothed the surface with some 0000 steel wool. It did a great job. Then some Rustoleum flat black. Due to the tight clearances, I did tape the mating surfaces.
I'm not 100% happy with the new finish, but it's pretty good. The original piece scuffed badly on removal, mostly just by looking at it wrong. I don't even remember touching it in the places that are now scuffed.
The fit and the new longer screw work great.
Nice. As I said, not 100% happy about the finish, but maybe I'll work on it more another time.
I have the 17mm ball. Which goes well with alot of cheap magnet mounts. I used these.
And then I just took off the magnet part to move onto this mount.
It works great.
