Default 19” Porsche Lobster Claw Wheels - On 996.2 - ?

Hello All,

I just can't seem to figure this out and looking for an assist.
Nothing specific at all about this in existing thread or anything much really that I can find yet in the forum or online.

QUESTION:
Can you put 19 Inch Porsche 997 "Lobster Claw" Wheels on a Narrow Body 996.2 ?

DETAILS:
19” Porsche Lobster Claw Wheels
Front wheels are 8”- et57-19” - - - Tires are 235/40/19
Rears are 11”-et51-19” - - - Tires are 295/35/19 i

I am trying to learn and figure this out but just don't understand the verbage/detail on wheels yet. Any help is appreciated.
Project Idea is to powder coat these black and see how it works out on a Speed Yellow C2 Cab

Further research and I found this existing thread: https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...ch-wheels.html

Seems 19 inch wheels have worked and are ok but not likely for track. Still Investigating

You need 235/35 front and 295/30 rear tyres
no spacers back and 15mm spacers front

Copy that. Thank you and that looks great.
Going to give this a go Soren.
Note: Will get new rubber which is fine as these are winter tires anyway on these.

Cheers

Hey Soren

Do you know if your wheels are marked or confirmed ET57 on the Front and ET51 on the back?
Same as the ones I am looking at?

Did you notice a difference with the ride at all in anyway.

Thank you again.

Narrow body lobsters will fit. I believe your rear wheels are for a wide body.

For example, narrow body wheels are 19x11 et 67. I’m running 295/30 19s.

Here they are on my car in narrow body fitment. The wide body would stick out too far.

I don’t know the exact ET but they are original 997 carrera S wheels.
The car is more stable now especially in side wind than before with my 18”
I’m having continental sport contact N rated tyres on the lobsters and they are very good.

Please take a picture of your wheels when you have a chance, specifically the numbers stamped on the outside near the valve stem on the rear wheels. I can’t imagine how you have even et67 wheels on the back with 15mm spacers, never mind et51. My et67 wheels sit nearly flush without any spacers. I’m running a 14mm spacer in the front.

Thanks Diddy,

I agree. I almost pulled trigger on these wheels butbelieve the rear wheels I documented would be to large for narrow body also.

To confirm your rear lobster fork wheels are ET67 and fit, and the front wheels I documented would work also.
So it is just the rears in the wheels I posted that are wrong as thet are spec for a 997 wide body.

?

Front ET 57
Rear ET 67

Like I said 15mm spacers front and NO spacers rear. 👍

Yes, the rears are 19x11 et 67 with no spacers. 295/30/19s.

Fronts are 19x8 et 57 with 14mm spacers. 235/35/19s

Narrow body wheels are fairly easy to find. A few sets have been in the marketplace here recently.

Thanks. That's what I figured. I must have read it fast. I don't think I could even fit a 3mm spacers in the rear without rubbing out the outside. I copied your front spacer look this winter. I replaced my 10mm spacer with a 14mm after seeing your car.
