Prices Keep Drifting Up

Bronto,
Nobody is alluding to future nosebleed prices. Just rising prices. Do you really own a 996 or are you just an occasional blogger?

I am alluding to nosebleed prices. I’ve had enough 98K miles Black/Grey 964 Coupes for $89K. I’ve had enough White/Tan 993 Cabs for $57K. And I’ve certainly had enough of Condé Nast pushing Weiderking’s BS garbage narrative about how the “budget conscious” 996 “saved Porsche” and “will NEVER be collectible”.
So it’s high time for a few million dollar 996’s.

Hah, appreciate the humor...
Maybe those selling their 996s on BAT can offer cupcakes to compliment the IMS Solution.

Removal of 50% bearing capacity under the 911 & Boxster motors intermediate shafts mid-production cycle was no “cost saving” measure. It was rather obvious sabotage. The cost of both parts versions can’t differ more than a few pennies. But it would have cost a fortune to retool and implement the change. Not to mention the billion dollar class action settlement, which was a patently foreseeable result.
Weiderking needed a false narrative for his fraudulent VW takeover attempt.
IE Porsche had to “appear” bankrupt at the very zenith of it’s wealth. Not an easy fiction to pull off on a world stage. Thank goodness for family holdings inside Condé Nast Publishing!
And then of course Weiderking needed an alibis to avoid life in prison as the inevitable result.
IMSB provided both. Weiderking walked away from his trial a free billionaire. And he left Porsche holding the Santa bag full of customer’s blown M96/97 motors. Quite a genius billionaire at that, eh?!
You might say Weiderking got his IMSB “solution” cupcake, and ate it too 🤑

Wow, that's cool. And the 996 has a brother, the 1966 Ford Mustang was another production car that won LeMans! It was produced at the same time that the GT40 was developed and I believe they share some suspension mounting bolts and also the black vinyl for the seats. So clearly the Mustang is also a LeMans winner.

The 1998 GT1 is either a 996 or it is not. Porsche calls it a 996. I don’t know of any other standard by which that may be measured. Do you?? IE Porsche claims the victory for 911, and who am I to argue with Porsche. Your clever analogy, conversely, falls a bit flat on the fact that the GT40 is not, actually, a Mustang according to Ford. But your point is taken. Yes the GT1 is faster than the GT2 is faster than the GT3 is faster than the Turbo is faster than the Carrera. We get it.

Brontosaurus, you need a new oil pressure sending unit. 5 bar at 2800 rpm with a hot engine? Nope!
We might as well say a VW bug is a Lemans winner because it has a rear engine like the 911.

The 911 won LeMans because a 911 GT1 won LeMans. So that Porsche could sell more 911 Carreras. No manufacturer I know of races apart from marketing. After all Porsche certainly wasn’t trying to sell GT1’s!
And if you think Porsche races in order to sell more VW’s you’d be wrong.

They're correct on the replacement engine, but incorrect on what the 'X' in the engine serial number refers to. I nuked my BaT account so maybe someone here will correct the seller?
