Just look at stock 996.1 or 996.2 GT3 dyno charts compared to FSI.
An FSI stage 2 outperforms a GT3, especially a 996.1.
It’s especially better for the street. (2500-6000RPM)
Torque in the lower RPM, FSI is king!
I'm *super* happy with my build...I'm getting it to the way I want and when its suspension and interior are finished, it will hit the goals that I have.

Default Things are getting crazy with money

There is a ton of money in the system. Now some idiots are buying virtual real estate. Tomorrow I’m starting an insurance company to sell to these people.

Quite a few misguided folks in the world. Same animal spirits as 2000 all over again.

Drive my FSI 4.0L 1x and you will never question what makes these machines so unique. If you need more hp/torque in a street car you are crazier than I am, and I set the bar pretty high! Mine will be driven year round and I will happily report back after 200 hours.

Sharp as F. I really dont like white on anything but a 996 areo. Im not sure what it is but it just makes the car even better. I was happy to get a guards red areo, because all i was finding was black and silver.

My 1992 VW Corrado VR6 with a Vortech supercharger outruns a 996 GT3 in a straight line. I proved that last night on the track. Corners are another story. My VW cost about $5,000.
Regardless of the engine choice it's not possible to turn any car into a GT3 or a GT2. The unwashed masses understand that GT cars a limited production and special, and will spend accordingly. Look a the GT2 on BaT - it's likely to sell for $150k.

Ah I love white cars and hate black wheels but this combo works really really well! Well done guy! That looks like some kind of front bumper conversion?

Pretty low miles so I think someone will pay top dollar for it. Will be watching it.

I'm quite interested in this one...https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...11-carrera-73/

Really dig the red seats. Really brings to life the rather boring all black interior. It did have an accident reported so that may need investigation but IMS was done along with clutch so that's a plus. At 103k miles I'm curious where it will go. Nice driver example.

Yes turbo rear bumper and 997 front very well grafted on a 99 aero

I will never understand the GT3 versus FSI argument. It would not apply to someone like myself who bought a '99 Carrera for $20K CAD 4-5 years ago. At that time, there was a speed yellow GT3 for sale for $99K CAD. I could not afford it or an FSI engine and I drove my car as a daily for 4 years since I did not want to pay to maintain two cars. A year ago, I was able to purchase an FSI engine and did because Jake had already given me his time when my engine was running rough before I could afford to be a customer. I was impressed.

The choice was easily made.. it made my car as good as new so I could continue to drive it far into the future. I did it for me, not the next owner, so I don't care about values. The car is more alive than ever and my heart races when the car is at WOT in second and third. I don't need more power. All of this for a fraction of what a new car costs and far less than a GT3, at least here in Canada. It isn't the newest and most insta-worthy 911, but I am in love with it. I dream about owning a GT3, but buying a 17+ year old Mezger just sounds like a whole lot of expensive maintenance waiting to happen, so I will wait until I am ready, but the Carrera is staying.

Lastly, regarding value, I could have spent the $30K on a new Honda Accord and been absolutely unexcited by its purely point a to b use. Many would consider that a priority, but I'd rather have one extremely well maintained 996 and a old trashy '08 Civic. Call me crazy, but it makes me happy.
