And then I’ve heard that even the lowly LS2 engines have become harder and harder to find for cheap money.
LS engines are still pennies.

$25k to build a worse car seems like an awful deal to me, no matter how cheap the donor is.

Did the PPI really do this one in, even with the major service done?

How many purchases from BaT have similar (or worse) issues, but aren't disclosed (the majority, I'd say).
Yeah, must have. Silly since most of the major bits were addressed. He'll get his price somewhere else I imagine.

Don't worry the 996 simp tossed his two cents in:

Recent comps are $85K+, reserve was prob $80K. So $68K high bid was like $20K off, but seller ignored multiple questions about unaddressed PPI items; can't blame bidders for hedging

I like edging. Feels good
but my fingers are sore from down voting every comment that clown writes on every 996

So I have to ask how much is too much for the Aeros now? This one was posted in 2019 for $17k and Aero was added after that with 18''inch sport classic II and 3 spoke wheel and some other bits...Its now $38k

probably worth 38 if it was a factory aero with the XAA option.
later add ons not so much.
I still regret selling my 30K mile aero in 2018

I’ve got two 99 aero, and have been going back and forth on selling one or both. More for practicality, it’s difficult to keep them, along with an RS4 and a 944 S2 Cab exercised since I’ve been working from home. But it’s tempting to take some profit now, even though I support the notion that they will, maybe a little slower over the next couple years, continue to appreciate.

I’d be hard pressed to let either go for less than 35k.

On a related topic, What is a white ‘98 build XAA coupe with 200k oil in coolant intermix worth these days?

From what I’ve seen, average spec with average mileage 996.1s have barely kept up with the overall rise in used car prices.
They’re still a bargain

Basic spec cars like these would be 12-15k prior to 2020.

Yep, my 996.1 XAA was about the same price as those, with likely much less miles, back in 2017.

But they were 20K in 2020 and have barely kept up with the 30% rise of all used cars over the last year.
