Three Wheelin'
Imagine caring about what someone wants to buy for their car. It's a nice piece that is 20 years late but a good idea none the less. It does seem a bit pricey but I could see myself putting used oil from the year when I drop my car off for inspection or any liquids for that matter. If you have ever had oil or milk spill or any liquid for that matter you know how difficult it is to clean up.

You can purchase a Sterilite 1687 bin from Target , I have a similar one that fits almost perfectly for $15.00 .... $185.00 for the Porsche one is crazy ... Must cost a whole $3.00 to make ...

A note on cost guys... yes sure there is a porsche tax involved, but remember the project cost versus the unit cost! There may well be only some beer money in actual material, but injection moulding setup is hell expensive! Dies of that size would cost tens of thousands of dollars to produce. A generic plastic tub is produced by the millions of units, if the design/dies/setup cost $50k and you produce a million plastic tubs that's $0.05 fixed cost per unit, plus say the $1-5 of actual material. Porsche might sell what... 1000 of these? In the previous example that's $50 per unit. Add logistics, distribution network costs, yada yada yada.... then add only a wafer thin 100% Porsche profit and it's pretty easy to get to a hundred plus dollars. The cargo liner for my Audi A4 Avant was a not too dissimilar price and would sell in much larger numbers than this, so really... not so bad. Just a shame they didn't have it years ago.
Regarding the actual product, I think it's generally a good idea for a daily driven car but likely takes away a little much needed cargo space. If I'm putting something potentially really messy in there like used oil or whatever, I use a generic $5 plastic tub to suit as per a previous poster, in this case the reduced space of an imperfectly fitting tub doesn't matter.. Day to day I usually have a plastic tarpaulin in the bottom which can catch any minor spills from leaky groceries and the like. One of the coolest things about this car is that it will take a 50lt beer keg straight into the frunk. I'd assume the Germans would have made sure this still fits!

I use mine to replenish my 40 gallon propane tanks for the gas grill and portable generator. It is amazing how much the frunk holds.

I'll end up buying one after I redo the interior LEDs with higher K bulbs and refinishing the trim. These types of additions can be ignored for a while but eventually I'll come around to getting one.
