Default MOST Adapter

Has anyone had any success using a MOST fiber optic adapter to connect a new head unit to the existing Bose amp and speakers? I know that you don't need something like this if you have a 2002 or older car, but I have a 2003 C4S and from what I've been reading, you can use something to connect an aftermarket head unit to the Bose fiber optic amp. But... there are so many conflicting stories out there that I was hoping someone on here may have some real world experience with this and can give me the straight scoop. I do know that I can purchase everything through CAI store, but if I can save a few bucks and keep my factory amp I'd like to do so (Christmas is expensive man!).
Thanks in advance for the help

Here's what I'm thinking of in regards to the adapter:

Near as I can tell,, (I'm in the detective phase as well) its almost luck of the draw,,
I did find a local stereo guy who had fiddled enough to know that if the version sold
to work with the 03 doesn't work, sometimes the one sold for the 04 Cayenne sometimes does,
which kinda makes some sense,, the 911 is the flagship. They may have been using versions for the 04
model cars in the 03 , 911 ?

Haven't done this myself, but I've seen several threads (here and other sites) that indicate the MOST adapter works.

I read the post but the links to the MOST adapter are dead (I may have missed one). Do you happen to know if there is an active link to the one you used?

When I did mine couple years ago, only found them thru a Chinese site, nowadays they are everywhere, Amazon seems the best deal.

I've seen lots of them as well, but my goal was to hear from someone that actually successfully installed one and get the link for that product. I've read that some of them work and others do not, so I'd like to avoid buying the wrong one.

[/QUOTE my PCCM radio I have has a MOST adapter that looks like the one you pictured. I didn't use it because my 2003 has an aftermarket amp.

The 2002 doesn’t have MOST. Is your radio a CDR220 or a CDR23?
