Default Unidentifiable Cabin Parts

First time Porsche owner. I recently bought a 2003 996 M6 cabriolet with under 57k miles and found these items in the glove box. I have looked around but haven’t seen any interior pieces missing. Any idea what they are? Thanks in advance.

The right side thingy is a seat back release lever. They are located near the top of each side of each seat.

The left side thingy is a “puncture guard” that is used to protect the fabric behind the hard top mounting holes when you mount the hard top.
There should be two .

Thanks, yes I have a seat that is missing one. Suggestions on parts suppliers that carry these? I see plenty on eBay but none specifically for the 996. Thanks.

Depending on the side (inboard vs. outboard), you need either this:

or this:

Sunset or Suncoast parts. Combine with a larger order though since shipping is the kicker.

Got it and did a little searching on its placement. I only have one at the moment but this thing doesn’t seem like it will stay in place at speed. Is this supposed to remain in place with the hard top removed? I am missing the covers also which I am going to put on order.

Thanks,
John

I'm pretty sure you remove it with the hard top and replace the fabric plug.

Yes, the fabric plug covers the hole when the hard top is off. Mine stay in place fine with the top down. You're lucky you have the plastic guide in place. Do you have one for both sides? If not, you might want to order another one. Really helps not to puncture the fabric around the hole when mounting the hard top

I only have the one. It was in the center console so wasn’t sure what it went to initially. Yes I have another on order. Maybe with the cap (i have two of those on order also) inserted it would stay but as is I wouldn’t trust it with the top down if left in place.
