broken pieces of plastic at bottom of oil pan
Hello,
During a oil sump cover replacement on my 1999 996, 3.4l C4, the mechanic took pictures of what he found...plastic chips.
Does anyone have any idea what this could be ?
Thanks

Probably the vario cam chain pads, need to remove the valve cover then cam assembly to change them, you might get cam deviation error codes aswel!

Here's a pic showing old pads in dark brown versus new lighter coloured ones, new pad material on updated pads now stop this problem or reduce it!Attachment 1306283
