Default license plate adapter

So, I live in a state that requires a front license plate. The front bumper only has the holes for the European size plate.

I'm not gonna drill holes in the bumper. I've found a couple adapters online for the US sized plate, but I can't imagine they look very appealing.

Is there a decent solution? Thanks.

I'm wondering as well. Right now all I do is throw my on the dash because I don't think the front bracket would look very nice.

There are guys that use the tow hook hole. The good thing about these is that it's really easy to remove. I don't know why, if this is a US car, the holes would be only for the European plate. My car came from California with two square holes that the Porsche OEM license plate holder attached to perfectly. The one at the top is what I used, pricey for what it is and not the sturdiest (this is my second).

You might and message this seller to see where he got his. Multiple pix in the gallery to see the finished product and looks like it uses the tow hook hole mentioned above...

NJ requires front plate. i keep mine on the passenger floor. i've passed numerous NJ police over the past 4 months and +5k miles i've driven and haven't been stopped once. if i do get stopped i plan on showing the plate and saying i just had front bumper touched up and haven't replaced it yet or some such story. if i ever get pulled over for speeding i hope it will give the officer an alternative ticket to write me, failure to display plate vs speeding. Just my thoughts on the matter.

So, if the tow hook hole is used, the plate will be off-center, correct?

Not crazy about the off-center look...I wonder if I got something like this and painted it the same color as the car...

Porsche has a bracket for US size plates: 996 701 107 00

There is the part the plate mounts to and some spacers to adjust for the curve of the bumper (996 701 107 00 / 986 701 801 00 / 986 701 802 00).

Here is one example on ebay:

Ok, but that looks like you'll need to drill new holes in the bumper cover. The holes in the bumper now are probably the standard square holes that are too large to mount the bracket at that link. Not the biggest deal, since the license is a permanent addition.

Why not this?

Based on your headlight resto, it's a easy mod. Same laws here. I just pull it out of the frunk if asked. Why spoil the look?😎
