Default Parking brake - adjustment to console

Hey all,

Installed a tequipment script parking brake yesterday and it seems to get caught on the centre console at the front. Its starting to get all scratched up All of the parking brakes i've seen have this damage. Even the one I removed was damaged on the side. Is there any adjustment in the unit to the body? I don't recall there being any movement available? It was just 4 studs and it seemed it was pretty much in place.

Also the console doesn't have any adjustment as its screwed into the shifter console? Unless over the years it's warped out of shape?

Anyone have any ideas? This is what im talking about:

I think the mounting holes have some play in them.

Thanks, the unit sits on 4 studs - maybe they have some play in them? I don't recall if they did or not? Seems like as they are 4 studs they would have limited play?

If memory serves, I think the holes in the cast aluminum base are larger than the studs allowing for some movement/play before tightening. Let me check a little later this morning, I have a spare e-Brake. Then again, that may be old age and not enough coffee yet today...

Thanks that would be great - I have my spare as well i'll measure the holes. The bolts are M8 so if the holes are bigger tan 8mm then there is play available. Which is annoying as the one i just had refurbished is now scratched ughhhh!!

You're correct - holes are 10mm while the studs are M8 - so there is 1mm play front/back + left/right

Gahhh wish I had known that yesterday before I put the console back in... Hope this helps someone else! Here are the torque specs for someone that might need them one day:
