Default check engine light

Have a code P2096 (Post Catalyst Fuel Trim System Too Lean Bank 1) with a check engine light. Is this serious and can it be ignored or reset? What is the fix? 2002 911

P2096 Signal Delay Time for Oxygen Sensor Ageing - Above Limit

Possible fault cause

- Oxygen sensor

Try clearing the code and see if it comes back. If it does, replace the oxygen sensor which is not difficult to do.

Just to be more specific, the sensor in question is the bank 1 post-cat O2 sensor. It has probably aged enough to trip the code (about slow response time of that sensor).

The 02 sensors were replaced 7000 miles ago. Any other ideas ?

Yes, it's probably not that O2 sensor then. You need to run it on a scanner that shows live data and have someone that knows how to interpret it. And then go from there.

^Good question. Exhaust leak could also be a possibility. I agree with Imo that someone needs to read the O2 sensor voltage in real-time and interpret the reading.

I just had a Porsche mechanic read the computer and the only error code was the 02 sensor New cats at 91000. Reset code and drove it for 15 miles and CEL is not on.

Didn't you replace all 4 7K ago?
Move the sensor to the other side.

The error is on the left bank #1 O2 sensor. All the sensors are new (7000 miles)

Drive it for a few days. 15min is too short to conclude anything.

How many miles have you driven it since clearing the code?
