What is the best street performer tire

Also I don’t drive the car very much in the winter so not worried about all season tires.
Right now I think it has Parelli Potenza tires.
Im staying stock and buying good rubber.
Makes the most sense to me.
So what tire do I need to buy??

hatchetf15 05-22-2019 11:24 AM

What does ‘staying stock’ mean? If you search this forum and others, you’ll find the PS4S and AS3+ are faves for good reason.

Staying stock rim and just buying rubber.
I started a thread asking which tire is considered the best.
You May have answered right there but I don’t understand what tire your suggesting.

Michelin PS4S

hatchetf15 05-22-2019 11:48 AM

Ok. Michelin 4S for summer and AS3+ is all-season, but dang near as good as the 4S. There is the issue of being able to find the best selection of rubber in the rear size of 285, but 265 rears have lots of options. The PS4S is, from all my searches, the best tire to put on your car. Conti Extreme Contact Sport in 285 was a fave of mine.

Is the AS3+ also Michelin?
sound like if they are pretty close to the summer tire I may as well get the all season.

What is your budget? SUMITOMO HTR Z III are almost insanely cheap and have been good street tires. Michelins are probably better but are 2x the price. And, before you accuse me of being a penny pinching cheapskate, let me say that the GT3 guys from Rennlist put me onto these tires.

+1, this is a great tire for all-around use, street or track, rain or dry.

When I bought my set of Sport Techno rims for my C4S (the seller had aftermarkets on them, too small and were ugly), as they were an original option with the car per the VIN lookup, they had/have the Sumi HTR Z IIIs on them. Don't have many complaints about them.

I think I've looked this up before, but do the Michelin PS4S' fit a C4S? Neither Discount Tire or Tire Rack show they do, but instead the Pilot Sport PS2 and Sport Cup 2...

I just put Conti Extremes in 225 18 and 285 18 because I couldn't get Michelin PS's and love them.

Potenza is a line of tires made by Bridgestone.
Pirelli's performance tire is P-Zero.

I can't tell you which tire you need to buy (other than the right size(s)). I can suggest that you visit a site such as Tire Rack, and spend a little time learning what's out there. They have great information and provide reviews on most of the products they sell.

For the money Sumi's are hard to beat for everyday driving.

If you're just looking for opinions, this place is fine. If you want real objective data based on real scientific testing, I suggest you look at:

I have Michelin PS4 on mine (225 front/ 275 back i believe). Had Conti extreme Sport before. The Michelins have less road noise after a few thousand miles and seem stickier. I like them.

Sumitomos weren’t my taste.

I love my BFGoodrich G-Force Comp-2

Have them on my Daily Driver also and they got through some snow last winter just fine. Quiet and comfy
