Default How can I tell if the struts are junk

Is there a good way to see if my struts are blown as my ride height is under 3 inches. I like the idea i
of coil overs but I need to raise the car.

Most coil overs give you a decent range of adjustment (as in, you can go up too).

The only way I know is to look for obvious failure, like observing evidence of fluid escaping from the strut top. If you have a name brand like Bilstein, you can send them in for evaluation, and in some cases they can be rebuilt.

Might also budget for top mounts. The coil overs will get you lower than M030. The H&R Street will go lowest and may be a touch less hard than the Clubsports, depending on your roads and driving. Plenty of real good options for the $2k price point, so good hunting!
Ohlins should be a bit cheaper than that. I think they were listing at $2800 and I for them for 2450. As recently as a few months ago they were listed at 2600 everywhere without so much as trying to negotiate. Might be a moot point as they are still above a 2k budget.

Surprisingly, my wife thinks the car rides better now than with the factory comfort suspension.
100% same as my experience on the ride. My wife has never complained about the ride since the Ohlins have been on the car. Good damping is everything.
