Raising the whole reatr of a 996
#16
Easiest way
1 use porsche jack in jack point to raise rear to get trolley jack in
2 from rear roll trolley jack under past engine to aluminium cross brace
3 get lifting head of trolley jack in the centre of the cross member and rotate the head of trolley so it cups the brace nicely , don't let any notched sides of the lifting head dig into cross member as it's aluminium and can be gouged
4 pump up trolley jack to sufficient height or even a bit more
For axle stands under jacking points and carefully lower trolley jack, you might need some wooden blocks or lifting pucks to go over axle stands on the jacking points
Make sure all is secure and level before going under car
I took my engine out like this!!
