I was looking for a Cayman, but I found the gearing far too long in the manual; and then I ended up in a 997 Carrera as my wife thought it would be better to have four seats and I took that as an approval for a increase in the budget.

I still want a mid-engined car one day, but I might go Lotus instead as the last itch to scratch.
