Shodog’s Carrera 4
Been lurking on the list for over a year soaking up the info but finally signed up when I bought my ‘02 C4 6mt last month. Got it from a private seller with 64k on the clock. Rebuilt motor with updated IMS put in at 38k.
I’m still in the honeymoon phase so I’ve just been cleaning and restoring it back to its best shape. The sun had faded then head lights which looked terrible.

I started using a 3m headlight restore kit but ditched it in favor of wet sanding them with 400/600/1000/1200/1500/2000 grit paper.

Once I got them as nice as I could with the 2000 grit paper

I buffed them with some Meguiars fine cut cleaner. They came out super clear.

The interior needed a thorough cleaning. I used dawn soap and a soft tooth brush to scrub all the pebble grain surfaces in the car. Then used Lexol to clean and condition the seats. The interior color is a dark blue. If someone could chime in on the name of the color that would be helpful as I’d like to change out a few worn interior pieces

Next big item on the agenda will be the brakes. Looking for recommendations for rotors and pads.

Drifting
Sebro rotors and Textar pads have worked well for regular street use.

Looks great! Good luck with 'er When you say "re-built engine", What exactly does that cover? As you probably know from lurking here for a while, it's sort of a gray area. Did you get paperwork covering the re-build? Was it itemized? The reason I ask is that I bought a car with a "replacement engine" in it (the replacement is in quotes because it was done on the DL - not a factory replacement). It turns out that after it developed quite an engine "tick" I decided on a proper/complete re-build (Flat 6 Innovations - Stage II Track Performer). Upon tearing the engine down completely it turned out that it was quite a bodge job, with 1 slipped/slipping cylinder sleeve and some dodgy head repairs (which seem to have worked, but were poorly/improperly done regardless). In any case, I'm just wondering how thorough you were in researching the "re-build" or whether you took the sellers word for it ?

Very nice acquisition. Congrats and welcome to the club. Make sure you keep clear bra or uv protectant (or both) on those headlights. It sucks to do all that good work and have to do it again next season if you leave them unprotected. Keep us posted on progress.
