Default Leather touch up

I'm looking for some Graphite Grey touch up for my 996 front seats. I thought of using shoe paste in gray to get into the small cracks and make it look better.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

"Leather Magic" has factory color-matched dyes that are an exact match to new. However, if your leather is dirty or shiny, then you'll need to steam it to get it back to the original color/sheen so that the factory dye will match.

I do not recommend Leather Magic. They had to send me two different bottles of color as they admitted their first batch was off. The second batch was off a bit too. Additionally, the dye/paint is semi-gloss in finish which is incorrect. Modern, clean automotive leather interiors are satin at best.

Interesting. Leather Magic's Savannah Beige was dead on in my case. It wasn't very close before steaming the leather to remove the sheen, but matched after. Did you find a dye that was a better match?

Not yet. I could probably mix the two batches that they sent me and get a much closer match, but the sheen would still be off.

I plan to stream clean one of the newly dyed areas to see if I can knock down the sheen a bit. If so, then I’ll attempt a mix n match.

I don't know if steam will take the sheen off of fresh dye. It's probably more effective at removing the sheen from on old leather (that has accumulated surface film over the years). RL user Atrox started this thread that really shed light on accumulated sheen for me -> https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...re-filthy.html

I had good luck with the Leatherworldtech. Decent match for my graphite gray/space gray interior.

I've used this guys https://www.seatdoctors.com/shop/automotive-leather-dye

and

https://www.leatherworldtech.com/Aut...art-s/1843.htm

Both good companies, but I feel the seatdoctors matched better.

I used Seatdoctors for my 911 Schwarz and it did come out very shiny. Is this the sheen you guys were talking about? And you guys used a steamer to reduce it?

Seats are bathing overnight in Leatherique right now. Their website may be old school, but the product is the real thing. I’ve used it on all my interiors including a Mercedes Deisigno Cashmere (very light off-white) interior and it has done the job every time. It’s amazing to see with a white interior what this stuff actually takes off!
