The 2004 C4S is New Again!
I'm on my fifth Porsche, and I picked my current car, a 2004 Carrera 4S Cabriolet, because this specific model had a number of design features that differentiate it from all the other 911 models out there. I could have bought a newer car, but none of the subsequent models had the combination of design features that the 2004 C4S has. Until Now !!! I was looking at the latest 2020 C4S, and notice that Porsche has brought back the design aesthetic that attracted me to my car, and it is a Widebody like mine. Oh, BTW, the starting MSRP for the 2020 C4S Cabriolet is $133,400 before options (one with my options would be closer to $140K! The 996.2 is a tremendous value, and now looks similar to the latest model (especially to the general public that doesn't know one 911 from another). See what you think from the photos below.

Preach on brother, I’m a disciple, lol! I drove my 996 C4S down to Porsche of Nashville yesterday morning to help a buddy complete his spec for a 2020 992 C4s, and noticed much of the same. I will say there’s as much that separates the two as links them, but I wasn’t embarrassed to walk back out front and leave in mine!

First of all congratulations on your purchase of a 996 C4S Cabriolet. Of course, I'm biased and think the 996 is one of best 911 values on the market hands down, but we have to be real when comparing it to the modern 992 or even the predecessors the 997 and 991
I'll go down the list at you have shown in your graphic...
1. The headlights have been non-circlish since the days of the aircooled cars. The 996 have a beautifully unique factory design... don't put a bag over it's face.
2. Every modern 911 after the 996 had multi bumper skin options that included larger air ducts
3. The shape of the 996's mirror are more tear drop unlike the angular shape of the 992
4. The center reflector was used on the 997, 991, and yes, 992. I'm afraid the 996 doesn't get special rights to the look.
5. The rear bumpers on the post-996 models did have rear vents
See attached photos
Again, you have a beautiful car. No need to try to justify the purchase by comparing it to newer models. Just my 2 cents worth. Cheers!

I'll add... when it comes to comparing the most recent 911 (i.e. 991 vs. 992), I still prefer the old front fascia. The new 992 has a weird, wide-family-sedan look to the front bumper.

As it has been said... enjoy your car!

Lower, Rear Vents on Porsche Carrera
I haven't been able to find any post-996 Carreras, NON-TURBO, models that have the lower rear vents. Have I missed a model?
I only buy naturally aspirated sports cars. My Ferrari 458 Spider is the last naturally aspirated mid-engine car they will ever make, and my Aston Martin DB9 Volante is the last naturally aspirated V-12 they will ever make. I went for my 2004 C4S Cab because I liked the Turbo styling and mechanical bits without the turbocharger. And now it seems most of the sports cars Porsche will be making are Turbocharged and/or hybrid. I understand the technical reasons every manufacturer is going turbocharged, but I just prefer an engine design that can meet it's power objectives without special help.

Actually, they are not totally "faux" on the 996. They help to take out heat from the exhaust. There is an air intake inside the rear wheel liner. But yes... the car could live without them
