Default New Injectors - Where to buy them?

Hi Folks, I am looking to replace the injectors on my 2001 996. While the stock mk 1 injector (996-606-132-00) is quite expensive at upwards of $180, my understanding is that the mk 2 injector (996-606-132-01) will fit with some minor modification to a groove that holds a retaining clip. I checked on line a few months ago and they were available new (I do not want rebuilt) from some of the usual parts suppliers for around $40. When I check today, I don't seem to see them except for some un-named EBay sources. Anybody know of a reliable source?

Thanks!!

Make sure these new injectors are not some knock-offs from China.

Check with Jason at Warehouse33auto.com. He shows the Mk1 Bosch injectors for a very reasonable price. Don't think they are rebuilt but I would ask. He is a good person to work with.

I just had a different search result at Pelican. They list two Bosch "white injectors", one at $37 and one at $304...??

Warehouse33 has new injectors.
I checked before I picked up my set.
Great prices and quick shipping.

Thanks Jason. I am assuming these are the mk 2 injectors (3.6L). Any comment on the fitment to mk 1 3.4L engines. I understand that there is a groove that may need to be modified a bit but that all other aspects are a fit, including the electrical connector.

Cheers!!

That would be an excellent tech writeup that could help all 996.1 owners... if you go down this route, can you document it.

I think Jake Raby or Tony Callas have posted that it works. I just don’t think we’ve seen a writeup or video on it.

Here’s another idea - I’m one of several people that have 996.1 parts motors: if someone with a junk/failed 996.2 injector wants it send it to me, I can try to modify it to fit, install it in the parts motor, take lots of pictures, then post it here for future reference.

Are the 3.6 injectors the same capacity as the 3.4 ones?

This was just covered in another thread, the DME can correct the pulse width for the 3.6 injectors in a 3.4.

Are they new and original Bosch units?

Yes, mine came in a Bosch box with a hologram and ID number.
You can confirm the number on Bosch's website.
I did, and they're genuine brand new Bosch fuel injectors for less than some places charge for used/"rebuilt" ones.

I believe they’re a few cc higher than the mki injectors but considered somewhat of an upgrade. I was in the middle of doing this but have decided to hold off as I’m contemplating doing a m97 3.8 swap. I would, hands down, use the mkii injectors over the .1. I would imagine on top of a few more cc flow that the .2 has a better spray pattern.
