Default How Do You Close/Open Your 996 Door?

I've always been jealous of the air-cooled guys ability to grab the frame around the window to open/close their door. Just something cool about doing it this way.

I've noticed I do a couple things with my 996 (Cup hand under the handle to open and close). Mostly to avoid fingerprints as much as possibly. Wondering what everyone else does.

Well, I have a cab, so I always lift the exterior handle to position 1, wait for the window to drop, and then pull the handle to position 2 to open the door. Then, from the inside, I grab the inside handle. To close from the outside, I never grab the window.

I don't really think about it, I just grab the handle and pull.

hes doing that because he has no interior door handles. That car is an outlaw/ratrod 911.

I've seen a lot of air cooled guys open and close the door the same way with the windows down. Figured it was pretty common practice.

Fingerprints around the door handle/on the door drive me nuts. I've started closing the door once exiting by pushing on the rubber window seal with my knuckle rather than finger print up the door panel.

LOL

There is something cool also about not having window frame and closing the door like Magnum P.I. (instead of Magnus)

That's what I do while telling passengers to: Handle the handles & sit on the seats !

I don't touch the glass and I don't slam the door.

I always use the door, never the window. The passenger side window tends to collect fingerprints.

I'm afraid about breaking the window actuator or the handle mechanism and since i have a cab i just leave the windows and top down climb over the door. No smuges on the glass to clean!
