Default Are new OEM transmission mount supposed to look like this?

Hi,

Are new transmission mount supposed to have cracked rubber like this:



It's that area of the mount that is super thin.

Just flashing left over from the mold. No rubber is intended in that area.

Ok thanks!

That means that I removed a transmission mount that might have been totally fine....I am such an idiot Was a pain in the butt to do it as well.

Not necessarily. Even if the old mount looks right, it can be pretty shot. The rubber breaks down over time and allows a lot more flex, even though it might not have any visible cracks in it. So your time was not wasted! Frankly any rubber component on these cars that's original could stand to be replaced and it would not be wasted time or money.

DKRAIGE hit the nail on the head. ANYTHING rubber on our cars that is original can stand to be replaced.

Also, I thought the same thing when I saw an engine mount like that. I thought it was bad. Didn't realize it was part of the manufacturing process.
