Thank god the era of carbon decals has ended!
I always wanted hounds tooth seat centers but my current Porsche has savanah beige and I just dont think it would work.
My buddy has his kids pick a playfull fabric which he used to replace his sagging headliner. It looks awesome.

Home Depot for color match interior for touch up of every mm of graphite gray. Fire extinguisher. BT. Painted console and center stack exterior color. Cleaned leather. Moleskin for seat belt receptacles. Rear shelf carpet. Custom steel shifter. Extendmyseat. Pedal set. Took a sample of wrap for wheel center stripe. Tiny key fob emblem for batwing.

I've been thinking of doing hounds tooth on my rear center console. I also have the Savannah interior and was thinking either tan and brown or red and black hounds tooth. My floor mats are black with red lettering and I like how they look. I have a spare console that I can play around with. I'm not a fan of painting it to match the exterior (green). When I was a kid, if your dad didn't pay for the upgraded interior you would have body color parts inside. I guess that stigma is still with me.

Steam_mill,
Moleskin in black sticks to the plastic on the receptacle and the fuzzy part on the outside is a buffer so you don’t scratch the center console.

In chronological order...
#1 - Bought car ('99 Carrera 4 Coupe 6sp Manual) with Full Leather interior (Savanah Beige)
#2 - Aluminum Pedals (cheap ones - $125.00 for all 4 IIRC)
#3 - Three spoke "sport" steering wheel
#4 - Numeric Racing Shifter w/cables
#5 - Coco Mats (navy/natural - Ocean Blue Metallic exterior)
#6 - I bought a spare center console to paint OBM (match exterior)...haven't gotten around to it yet, but I'm shooting for sometime before April, as that's when I get the back with a nice FSI stage II track performer engine in 'er...
*** Oops, I forgot the Function First shift ****...

Here are a few things that I did to upgrade the interiors of my 996 and my 997:
  • Installed a double-DIN head unit with modern navigation, Sirius XM, etc. (996)
  • Installed a new rearview mirror with Homelink (996)
  • Installed a painted center console to match my car's paint (997)
  • Installed an upgraded steering wheel (OE aluminum look steering wheel in my 996)
  • Installed contrasting floor mats to bring a little bit of "pop" to the interior (996 and 997)
  • Installed a variety of leather bits (Some OE, some from Exclusive Option), including: leather armrest with model logo and stitching, leather mirror triangles, upgraded leather pieces fo the center console with custom stitching, etc. (Mostly 997, but some in the 996 also)
  • Had the leather bolsters replaced on both front seats, and had seat heating added during the process (996)

Thanks! Good idea. My Jeep Wrangler has these oem. I think I will use the loop part of Velcro.

Scraped of the scratched and nicked "soft feel" paint on the center console and the horseshoe around the radio/vents and painted. Looks fantastic!

Installed silver rings around the gauges.

Installed new coco mats. Still need to install my new(er) shift **** to replace the scratched up one, and find a replacement parking brake handle. Also planning a new head unit...
