Default Quick question - Coolant leak, 2003 996 C2

So I had a coolant leak (spot on the floor, coolant level low, even after filling it would decrease). Took it into my Indy - he just called and said he lifted it and it looks like its coming from the AOS. He needs to take down the tranny to get to it. Looking all together with parts and labor at $1250.

Is he screwing me? I've taken my PTT and paid him 4K work for it, and another 2K for this 911 over the past 2 years.

I'd get a second opinion. The coolant tanks are famous for cracking and leaking in places you can't see.

Depending on mileage, but the AOS is a likely source of a coolant leak. You might want to consider going with the Indy on this one. The AOS has a supply and discharge coolant line and is a PITA to replace. If the coolant spot is left front of the engine, then it is more than likely the AOS. If left rear of engine, then coolant tank.
