I have one on order...looking forward to it.

Update: Actually, just got it from UPS this am....Costco shipped it immediately...ordered late afternoon of the 11th...delivered 11am on the 14th. Now, if only I didn't have to work today, I could put it together.

Slightly off topic, but anyone use the bag jacks? I assume you could put it in the middle like the 944 and lift the side, but now you have me wondering on the 996 and lift bars.

For those of you latch-key kids who grew up with TV as your babysitter and just got a quickjack, here's the official setup video:

I've been eyeing one of these for my detailing business. Garage overall planned in the spring, hopefully, I can add one of these things to the tools at my disposal.

Will these lift the car high enough to pull the engine? Even if it did, I think I'd prefer a scissors lift I could walk under but they're very pricey. https://www.bendpak.com/car-lifts/fu...scissor-lifts/.

I found a used one on craigslist but they company that made it isn't in business any longer.

By my calculations, QuickJack won't lift high enough to pull engine nor drop the transmission onto a transmission jack and pull it out on the jack. You might be able to drag the transmission out if you tip it enough to get the bell housing to clear the underside of the car.

The reason I opted for a quick jack is that every other solution has to be hard installed or requires a 220V circuit to run the pump PLUS I just had Flat6 Innovations fix everything I was going to drop the transmission for anyway. The first step of most work on a Carrera seems to be to jack it up. I used Rhino Jacks to change the oil, but they are too steep even my stock 996, plus I end up with the car not where I want it because I ended up having to back up the ramps. Heck, my 996 is too low for even my floor jack, so step 1 of lifting the car would be to drive up on 2x6s. The quick jack slides right under with no issue.

I know you’ll enjoy the convenience of the quick jack. I had a Herkukes pneumatic platform lift that I used for my 1980 911 SC. It worked great. Just doing simple stuff like oil changes was so much easier. When I moved I kept the old 911 but not the lift. It was just too heavy to move. As much as I liked it, I realized I rarely used it.

I had to purchase even lower profile blocks as the small blocks that were provided didn't clear....I'm lower very low
If you use SUV blocks that quickjack sells, you can lift the 996 high enough to pull motor/tranny

Don't discount out the Harbor Freight lift, have had mine a year and half now and works great for everything I got, 6000 lbs lift
cost me 1200 bucks with coupon. I did build the ramps to park the lowered car.

So you feel safe under a harbor freight lift? Actually, I've been working under four harbor freight aluminum jack stands. I like them but can't help but worry a bit. One of my first harbor freight tools was a wire stripper. The first time I used it, it just fell apart. Ever since then, until I bought their aluminum jack and jack stands, I've only bought stuff from them that I didn't care about.

Can you pull the engine and tranny with the HF lift? It looks like it's easily tall enough. Do any cross members get in the way?
Thanks
Dave

Dave, I have not personally pulled motor and trans yet, I do plan to in the future, I've got a 02 C2 with IMS done already and 04 C2 that I plan to do the L&N Solution in the future, before I bought this lift I did talk one other on here with the same lift and he had done the job and to remember to put the car on the lift at the most rear position on the lift.
