I saw a video today of another user's car and I loved the sound. In fact, I used to love my car's sound since it had the fister mod when I bought it. The baffle broke on one and now it rattles, so I have been using a set of maxflos I bought on here. The problem is, they sound terrible. I almost think it has an exhuast leak or they just sound terrible as is. I wanted to fix my own modded cans, but any shop I spoke with said to scrap them because it wasn't worth the cost. I'm not sure the maxflos were worth $1,000, though. How much should it cost if I talk a shop into fixing them (approx)? Also, any other tips would be great. I just want a raspy flat 6 again!

I have been thinking about this. I am a little nervous about getting a set that gets a rattle within a year or so. I'll have to keep my eye out for some clean cans on here. Anyone wanna trade for some maxflos!!

At first the shipping was a deterrent. But, now I am thinking I could send them in as cores and have him send me a fresh set.

I think those where my maxflo's… they sounded great on my car....I wonder if it was because I had 200 Cell cats and EVOMS cold air kit. How is the rest of the car set up? Also, you could have a leak between engine and muffler. Are all your sensors still installed.on the cats?

Hey Lowpue. They were your maxflos. And, just to clarify, I do believe it has everything to do with my setup and I am not blaming you as the seller. You went above and beyond and I would buy from you again. Everything else on the car is stock. I was thinking about changing the cats next, but I am looking for a lower cost option as the moment. I didn't have a leak before, but I think I will look over the winter for any possible leaks. Perhaps I will get a video and post it this weekend so everyone can have a listen. 911s can sound very "airy" (probably not the best adjective), so I am not sure it is has a leak or just sounds like that with full mufflers installed.

Yeah....I would check out why you have a sound issue. Really curious...post a video when you get a chance. Plus, I would love to hear a comparison with fister. As you know I have gone with totally custom system....really like it but maybe a tad loud....

It was marvelous. You can see why I want to fix them haha. I never noticed drone. There is certainly more drone on the maxflos at 2500rpm.
