Default Anyone with an Ohlins setup here?

Does anyone have experience with an Ohlins coilover kit on their 996? If so how does it ride on the street?

I have Ohlin R&T GT3s on my 996....Absolutely love it....its so much better than the JRZs it replaced. Car has never felt this good....of course the 400HP 997 engine in it also changed the experience as well

How is it on the street? I don’t wanna track car as a daily driver. How’s the ride quality?

Ohlins R&T on 996 C4S, which is same as the Turbo’s. Set at 15, front and rear, the car was too stiff for the DC metro are and Shenandoah track Summit Point, WV. I backed them off to 9 and it feels just about right as daily. Works well on the street and track.

Love it on the street....Not sure what its set too but I wanted a compromise street and track set up....Dundon set it for me. Eitherway, pleasure to drive on road and track.

Smooth, compliant and planted. So much better then OEM. Standard I have them on 9 clicks front and 10/11 in the rear. GT car comfort. When I feel like I make them stiffer, anything between 3-8 according to the circumstances.

Only one setting to play with so as a non-pro you work out very quickly what works best for you. Compared to 2 and 3 way adjustability.

Great value for money if you compare them with comparable brands which mostly have a higher price tag.

Earlier this year had Ohlins R&T, Tarett sway bars, GT3 lower control arms and all bushings installed, lowered the car about 3/4” and increased negative camber and corner balanced with the Ohlins at a mid setting and have been driving street/track. What I noticed is less oversteer and less tire wear on the track, more predictable suspension handling and more confidence in the car going where I want it to. I have Michelin Cup 2’s. On the street it is also more predictable, with better balance and braking, I honestly haven’t felt it to be any more harsh a ride than the OEM set up I had before. Next year plan to increase the stiffness a bit. I would recommend them without reservation, the coil overs are a good value but I have to admit the entire set up was a bit pricey, but no regrets. If you have any specific questions let me know and good luck with the decision.

Have it on mine - but it’s pretty much only a track car. Though not horrible on the street - I wouldnt want to do it every day. Maybe there is a way to soften it up.

Thanks for the responses guys. If there is enough adjustability to make the suspension comfortable on the street it’s something I’ll def consider once my M030 components wear out.
