Exactly. Why use something that is known to fail (can you say Maserati?) Probably promised an improved product by the supplier. I wonder if it’s only a problem in hotter climates like in Florida where my radio ***** just all of a sudden got very sticky after 5 years. Isopropyl alcohol worked great as you said. All in all a bit disappointing in $100,000+ car but no biggie. Plus side there is the weight savings....LOL
