Drivers Side Door Not Opening

Brothers, I awoke to my C4S not allowing me to open the Drivers Side Door, when I left the door handle, the window drops (as normal) but the door will not open. Lucky I am skinny and not that old, so I have to enter via the passenger door to open the drivers door. In the interest of time, I was hoping someone would have experienced this and advise could it be the actuator in the door?

So it opens okay from the inside? If that's the case, it may just be the mechanical connection between the outer door handle and the latch. I don't remember exactly how it attaches but there is a short metal rod or hook that connects the handle to the latch. It may have disconnected. Not a difficult fix. Search for a door latch replacement DIY.

There is a metal linkage rod that connects to the outside door handle, and it has a plastic clip that has a locking collar attaching them. It isn’t unusual to have this become disconnected.

You can see it if you pop off the inside door panel. You may need to move the door mounted airbag and a blocking plate to get good visibility. If I remember correctly, it is located where the linkage rod meets the outer door handle.

It is the item the green arrow below points at.

I ended up wrapping the little black plastic end of the rod with a bit of duct tape once I attached it to the screw that it connects to on the inside of the door handle. The slot doesn't really feel all that secure, like it could pop out of the plastic piece easily. Since wrapping it with the tape, no more issues. I had this issue, but it was not due to the mechanical linkage. You'll know if you can open the door from the inside or not. If you cannot open the door from inside or outside, either the door actuator is faulty and is stuck in the locked position or the key lock mechanism in the door handle itself is jammed in the locked position thereby not allowing the door actuator to unlock. If either of these is the case, you will be unable to unlock the door manually with the key. There is also the possibility of a bad fuse or relay preventing the actuator from working. I removed my door actuator and confirmed it was the cause by manually locking it (rotating the spade "key") then pulling the cable for the interior door. You'll know if it's the plastic linkage. The exterior door handle will feel different when pulled. Won't have any resistance.
