When I bought my '99, it had black script and a letter was broken a bit so I ordered a matte silver script and used dental floss to carve the old one off.

Glad to see you didn't add "turbo".

Or the Letters - P-O-R-S-C-H-E, Personally not a big fan of 991 or newer P cars Logo's, too busy.

Anyone with a MK1 Carrera with a script color other than black? My car is dark blue and you can hardly see the Carrera name. I'm wondering if it would look better in silver. White might be too much.

when mine broke , I thought blackcarrera script on a dark car was pointless so I went with the polished aluminium letters

My mk1 Ocean Blue Metallic had black script. I switched to silver and it looks much better to me. Sorry I don't have before and after pics from the same perspective, or the same lighting, but the pics below give a rough idea of the difference.

My old 2001 (mk1) Lapis Blue Carrera 4 came with silver "Carrera 4" script, not black like on the 2000, so I'm not sure what logic Porsche used to pick script color. After having the 2001 in silver, the 2000 never looked right to me in black, so I had to switch. Being a bit of an originality freak, I've saved the original black script.

Silver:

Black

Thanks, peter, that looks great. I'll change my black badge to silver this winter on my lapis blue cab!

Default Part of mine broke off, Replaced Black script w 997 Script in Silver

At some point I'm going to remove this, and have it airbrushed to look similar. Couple of friends have their Hot Rod Nomad and 63 split window done in paint, pretty cool.

If by 'silver' you mean chrome, it's part #996559237104PU and seems to be available everywhere.

It looks like Sonnen is the the cheapest though.

Those are actually Silver, Chrome is later models if not mistaken.

911 comes in chrome as does 996
