There is a way to adjust them.
When locking the hardtop you know the plastic piece you insert the tool into? Well, it pops up to expose the spike that goes into the receptor. Once you pop it up you will see a nut - the base of the hardtop - then another nut you can raise and lower how hard the hardtop sits by moving these two up and down. Hope this helps.

Post a picture that shows the top/car combination from the rear. There is a fat foam rubber gasket that seals the top to the car. Maybe yours is partially/totally missing or slipped?

Be careful when tightening that down. Too much will cause the metal parts of the top to scrape the paint off the car.
There should be about 1” of space under the rear lip when the top is clinched down.
