Those ducts behind the rear wheels are not "radiator ducts"... The radiators are in the front of the car... I believe the turbos sit behind the rear wheels and these vent help to keep them cool.
Actually they are radiator ducts.

The duct opening is in the rear fender, just in front of the rear wheel. This duct channels air to the radiators for the intercoolers. The air exits through the vents behind the rear wheel.

So, they aren't the primary radiators for engine cooling, but rather smaller radiators for intercooling purposes.

I found a great cutaway image online that shows these ducts and the rear radiators very well. You can see the black ductwork above the rear wheel, as well as the radiator/intercooler.

Really highlights how much wider a turbo/C4S is than a NB C2...

Interested to see how this pans out - would it not have been easier/cheaper to purchase an aftermarket turbo/C4S look bumper for a NB than try to modify a real a turbo one? Either way keep us posted!

Yeah, but the ducts for the inter-coolers are in front of the rear wheels... the ducts invthe rear bumper were cooling for the turbos that sat behind the wheels

Exactly. The air passes from the front openings, through the intercooler/radiator, and out the rear bumper openings.

I agree with this statement. There are turbo-like bumpers from companies like Duraflex that will match up to the narrow body car for proper much less money than trying to cut or modify a bumper that was made for a car that's 4 inches wider. Here is a link:
