996.2 litronic headlights, 996.2 aero kit bumper and engine cover/wing. They were installed by a previous owner. I like the look, but I likely wouldn't have done that for myself and I have no interest in adding aero kit side skirts.

The Aerokit II side skirts are the cheapest part. (currently just under $700 before painting)
I've kinda held off on getting side skirts because every time I see an old Honda or Toyota, or Mustang with side skirts I think, "nah...they look too cheap."
Then I look at the Aerokit thread here and go, "yep, they look just right."
So if I visit the aerokit thread too many more times this weekend, I just might order them...if I can stay away, I'll wait a little longer...

Coming from one who accomplished this same goal in February of this year, welcome to the "Club". Daily driving and road tripping this car is a special occasion every time, and the last few owners obviously felt the same as she's over 180k now.
Also, in regard to your religion (Church of Sidewall) I offer that you can have it all.. on my 3/98 Carrera 2 I'm running C4S wide body twists (18x8+50 front, 18/11+45 rear) with 245/40 and 275/40 tires. Very controlled ride, non jarring over bumps. I have a 27 year old back injury and I can and have spent hours in this wonderful Recaro designed seat without abnormal pain or worry.
Enjoy the ride my friend, everytime.

Congrats! I've seen your car in person and know the previous owner. It was in good hands before you purchased and it looks like it'll continue to we well cared for.

I have tracked my 99 twice at Road Atlanta which is a fast track with fast turns. I can keep up with may cars through the turns. Understeer was not an issue even when running stock 17s with 205s on the front during one of the track days. On the back straight, the Ferrari's and new GT3s would blow by me.

Thank you! Trey was great and I actually also got in touch with the original owner who was really pleased it was still being enjoyed. Watching you push your car at the track is good motivation for me to get out there, we should have a beer together one of these days.

Hard to choose. My favorite 30 years ago when I was 10, was probably the 930 turbo or the 356 bathtub. Then the 959 soon after, then back to the 911 turbo S. I only recently graduated to appreciating the GT cars, but not before digging into the history of the 917 and other race classics.
I’m now awestruck by the GT2RS. It’s my favorite ever since it came out, and after I saw it in person, it became an instant classic by my book.

I joined the driving club at Road Atlanta. My first two sessions were in the novice group, although there were some more advanced drivers getting their check-outs. Many of the cars are purpose built.

In terms of tires I got the Michelin Pilot Super Sport, these are probably the best street tires you can get but I was not super happy with them in on the track.
If you plan to track a few times a year and live in a warm climate and don't have to drive fast in the rain then get Ventus RS-4 or similar.
I also have a 1999 C2 911. Just love the car. Still hasn't figured out how to drive it fast on the track, something with the engine being in the back...
