Bummer that you were hit, but looks like you found a suitable replacement. Congrats Cuda.

I always worry about this. I'm so paranoid I keep my eye in the rearview so I can get out of the way. Nice replacement? Any interior pics? Hope its a happy ending and you are OK!

Sorry to hear this, they ARE dropping like flies lately. Hopefully you will be made whole and the insurance rates will go up on the offender enough to stop them from texting and driving.

That sucks! Sorry to see it!

Sounds like it’s time for a 991. C’mon in, the water’s perfect!

So out of curiosity - what would the process be for someone to buy a car from an insurance company before it goes to someone like copart, DC Auto, or LA Dismantler....

Simply pay the insurance co. But, then it has salvage title, and registering it can be a huge PITA here in CA.

I was more interested in buying a car and using it for parts (of course, I'm a bit close to that idea right now).

Blue Chip, if you are interested in going this route and not interested in the head lights, ping me. Cuda's head lights look better than mine and I would be interested in purchasing them.

Wow
Sorry about your car cuda
There does seem to be a lot of attrition happening this year to 996s.
Between the different forums and groups I look at, there are at least a dozen and a half (includes overseas) totalled this year.
Most important, all of the incidents that I have read about, nobody in any of the 996s had any serious injuries.
That fellow 996 owners is a big deal, no matter how much snubbing we 996 owners get, our cars are very safe.

Sorry for the accident, but the replacement looks great!! - If anyone buys the salvage I'd be interested in the wheels. My favorite wheels by far.

Weird that I could see the replacement’s pictures on my computer but not on my iPad.
Really pretty 991! (Going by memory here. )
