I was just going to start a new post "I totally Get it" this is one fine machine! I waited and I worked my *** off venturing to the unknown (to me) and it was totally worth it!
I wouldn't/couldn't of done it with out the contributions so many have put into Rennlist...

You know your car better than most 996 owners do.
You've definitely seen the underside more than most people will ever see it. Ha!
What was your total cost?

All in with towing and shipping, about $11.5-12K. I've not added up all the little receipts.

Wow, I'd call that a HUGE win!
How many miles does it have on it?

124K on the roller (with $20K in receipts since 08) and 50k on the 05 Factory replacement motor.

Well, it sounds like your time on Rennlist was well spent, and your car has the potential for forum stardom if you ever buy a camera

Glad you're enjoying it, I hope it treats you well!

Name the shot and I'll take it (wifey has a Smart Phone) for you. Maybe a video with the GoPro (I've only used it for surfing) driving through the hills or along the coast?

I think considering this is a motor swap, some sound and fury from a video would be highly appropriate!

Less idiotic than the time I left the old oil filter gasket stuck to the spin-on adapter and made a helluva mess. Congrats on the start!

I'm an idiot though. My 13 hour push to get the car done I now remember putting the old plug in to keep the drops off of my chest while I checked fitment. The next morning before putting oil in I torqued the plug to make sure and forgot that I didn't put the new LN in.

Since we’re confessing...
the first time I changed my oil in my 996, somehow I ended up with two metal drain plug gaskets.
Yep, it leaked a little bit of oil...even though it was torqued properly.
