Default HVAC issues - assistance in troubleshooting

so since I picked up my car I have always had excellent AC...but never any heat, and any vent position always blows air out of footwell, windshield and dashboard vents (doesnt matter what is selected). Car is an ‘00 cabrio. I recently picked up a durametric and am getting four errors:

26 - mixing flap motor fault
27 - central flap motor fault
28 - footwell defr. flaps motor fault
29 - outs./recirc. air fl. mot. fault

so seems strange that all those motors would be burned out...have been searching but hoping someone can point me to some good troubleshooting steps?

thank you in advance!

Start with the fuses. If you don’t have a list of them PM me your email and I can shoot you the full wiring diagram which includes them. From there, if nobody chimes in that’s done it, the workshop manuals and google will be your best friend.

Thank you...I did indeed check fuses in the box. I only saw two listed for the system (is that correct). Both checked out fine and I swapped with new just in case there was a break I couldn’t see.

I'm going to make a wild guess. Pull the HVAC panel from the dash and make sure all the wires are connected in back. Seems like that is central to everything else working properly, i.e., all the motors are controlled from that unit.

Pulled the CCU...everything was plugged in (4 plugs) across back...cleaned contacts and replugged...still same. Wonder if I can find a known good unit locally to try and plug in to rule out the CCU...
