Well, you are not the first one to mention that they are somewhat sacrificial, it's a common complaint, but I'm a slow learner. And I'm one of those who thinks they might win the lottery, get in shape, pick the right line at the supermarket, etc.

Change the voltage regulator is a easy job but it takes some patience.

Drove about 300 miles today, unseasonably warm in Michigan. A friend just picked up a sweet deal on a 997 C2S. We drove to Hell, Mi and back!

Pulled a idler pulley off and waiting for a new bolt to reinstall it. I think the tensioner is also on its way out. I was trying to figure out how to remove the power steering pump pulley to get a clearance to get a combination wrench on the bolt in the back of the tensioner pulley but can’t seem to pull the power steering pump pulley. It is stuck solid even after taking the 3 bolts off. In the process, discovered bolt holding down the air filter box somehow sheared off..also waiting for a replacement to arrive.

Took the front bumper cover off to clean out the radiators and adjust the cover as it is a bit off.

I think you jinxed me! I had just installed the short shift kit and my car would not start so I could test drive it. The battery just died. 5 years old so it was time. Went out and put a new battery in today and test drove the car. The short shift is cool! takes a little getting used to. Harder to shift from 2 to 3 don't know why but I sort of have to "force" it into third gear. I will report after driving for a few days!

Default Went back to a OEM engine mounts

After only about 1k miles and 5 months of the semi-solid engine mounts, I took them off and installed and went back to OEM engine mount.

On a dark car, I definitely think it looks better.

I test fitted my new service cover between games.

Default Maybe just my age (48)

maybe just getting too old. I like the vibration/the feel when I’m in the “mood of driving spirited runs” but it gets annoying if you are not in the mood and just driving around town. Also removing my lowering springs and removed the rear fixed tech art wing. Overall, I just want the car back in its classic oem/911 look and feel.
