What did you do to your 996 today?

Three Wheelin'
This seems like a good idea. It used to be a thing, but I don't think people even steal wheels anymore. It seems like they either take the whole car, or nothing (or the airbag I guess).

I sent it to FSI for an elective Track Performer stage II engine rebuild...

Drifting
I'm thinking a FSI 4.0 would really wake my 2002 up (edit, looks like the 3.6 can only be taken to 3.8 ). The cost of this as a preventative job seems like a great alternative to buying a newer car with a big engine. I love everything else about the car.

I'll get the car back mid-April, and it'll be 3.8L (per Jake). The extra power will be nice, but I'm really shooting for the longevity and the ability to occasionally AX/DE with confidence. The upshot of the car being away for awhile is that I'll have room in the garage this winter as I have some non-mechanical stuff to do. A re-finish on a center console in Ocean Blue Metallic (body color) and also paint some MK I duraflex side-skirts that I picked up over the summer and haven't had a chance to do yet.

Took her thru the car wash today, yep one of those fancy ones where you sit in your car and it moves thru with all the rotating brushes and monster towels, much quicker and easier than the hand wash she gets during the above freezing months. First snow of the year left her looking kinda messy for the past week so she needed a bath...

Really though, you will have TONS of swirls because of this. I guess you have the money to get it detailed and the swirls removed...

Today I replaced my oil sending unit. Ordered it 'just in case' a while back, so I decided to just put it in. Takes only a 10 minutes with the correct 19mm crows foot wrench.

Nice List!
I drove my 996 for the third time since purchase 3 weeks ago.
Drive 1: Drive home from dealer.
Drive 2: Drive back to dealer tomprogram second key.
Todays Drive was 40 miles to drop off the 996 for
1. Waterpump
2. AOS
3. RMS
4. Likely clutch
5. IMS Solution
hope this makes my 72 000 km 996 bullet proof!

*Flywheel
*Just consider exhaust modifications at this time also: Headers, etc. This is a great time. In my case, 6 of the bolts broke into the block and had to be drilled/tapped. Pricey, but it was done and came back sounding great and speedy.

Great start to the list, I did the same process about 2 years ago. Be prepared (or just do) the following:
