Default Clean seats were filthy

I keep a clean car, but I decided to use a bed bath and beyond gift card to buy a hand held steam cleaner. Holy cow, the amount of grime this thing pulled out was incredible. Basically if your seats are glossy they are dirty. Steam cleaner was $60 bucks and although intended for fabrics this thing is a must for detailing.

I pre soaked seat with woolite spray and used the included brush attachment. Just look at the diff!

That’s pretty amazing. Did any paint lift up onto the towel?

seats are covered from factory with coating, that’s why leather cleaners/conditioners help very little.

I have been using a magic eraser, carefully, on my gray seats. Works well. I agree about if they look shiny, they're dirty. Great pics.

magic eraser is like 3000 grit sandpaper, be careful with it.

Wait - so if if they look shiny, they're dirty - is the left side the dirty side or the right?

Yes, the left side is the dirty side.

Great work. We had some debate on what to do once they are clean. I am going to try 303 leather 3 in 1.

Did you dilute the Woolite before applying?

What an awesome idea. I bought one of those steamers for my wife -- never even thought about using it on leather. Mine is very clean also currently, but shiny.

How long did you leave it in each area? I've always been concerned about steam damaging the leather, but obviously it seems to be safe from your experience.
