Default CONVERTIBLE-TOP-LIFT-HYDRAULIC-CYLINDER

Did some one rebuilt his convertible top hydraulic cylinders by replacing the O rings? How complicate is this job?
I'm looking for the dimension of the replacement O rings and a DIY procedure.

I' tried to buy the O-ring kit on Ebay but the vendor is "out of the country" for a month.
By the way I know that I can send my cylinders to be rebuilt and ship back but I don't want to wait a week and a half without being able to drive my car.
Thank you for helping!

If you do it yourself please post some pics and notes; for us with cabs who might do this in the future!

I highly recommend Top Hydraulics for rebuilt cylinders. About $420 for the cylinders. They offer a core exchange service that charges you an extra $300 bucks until you return the bad cores. So no wait for parts. Pretty easy job, just be sure to check to make sure that you get the correct length hoses.

I know you said you don't want to ship them off, but for anyone else looking at this, I used Craig on EBay (don't judge) https://www.ebay.com/usr/ckunins?ul_noapp=true. He uses your cylinders and does the pair for $400. He says he likes to use your cylinders to make sure there are no issues with hose lengths, so no core option, but he'll overnight them if you want and he does the work within a day usually. Super fast, easy to work with.

I did same. Very quick turnaround, and no complaints. They new cylinders were so tight that they made some Rod Serling casket-lid-opening sounds for the first few cycles, but now they sound just like stock, and no leaks.

I used Top Hydraulics , Klaus provides top notch product and support even after the sale. You can't go wrong if you can DIY.
