Two electrical connector questions

Two electrical connector questions
These pertain to my 2004 C2.
The first photo shows a small electrical connector attached to the microswitch that operates when the hinged lid on the center console is closed. No amount of pulling, wiggling and prying has thus far been able to separate the connector from the microswitch. What's the right technique?
The second photo shows a 4-pin electrical connector that emerges in the center console, below the radio. It wasn't connected to anything. Anyone know what this is?

The second image is the telephone connector that is standard. It's a good way to get switched and unswitched power. I'm not sure about the first image. I hate dealing with connectors in this car. Every one seems to have different method of opening. Try prying up gently between the plug and the socket.

From memory it should just pop out.
If you can get a small torx screwdriver in there three screws hold in that lock, remove them free the console then you can work on getting the connector out.
Im speculating that its possible to do that, when I did my shifter mine came out easily.

Only a guess here as well, but stick a small flat blade screwdriver in the square hole on the microswitch and push while pulling out on the connector. Agree that the four pin connector is the phone connector.

I have just detached mine three times in the last 2 months. In all cases, it just pulled right out, there was nothing to squeeze or push on. I know my center console had been out before, so it is possible it was already lose from when the factory installed it. I would try to gently use a pair of pliers to wiggle it out.

I managed to separate the connector from the microswitch. It was a struggle - just pulling simply didn't work. What did was to insert the blade of a knife in the small space between the connector and the microswitch slot, then pull on the connector. Thanks to wyovino for inspiring this.
If anyone is interested, some googling of the 4-pin phone connector produced this pinout (not yet verified):
Beneath the center console, I found another unattached connector. Anyone know about this one?

- Brown - ground
- Yellow/Black - telephone mute
- Green/Black - switched 12v
- Red/Green - unswitched 12v

Could be for the ashtray light. Not sure though. Do you have the ashtray delete?

I believe there is a connector available that plugs into that phone plug connector so you dont have to cut it.
From memory it might be a BMW part, someone whos used it might be able to verify and provide a part number.

That 2 pin connector is also similar to the one that goes to the hand/parking brake

I received the connector that I ordered from eBay, via this link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Porsche-AUX...gAAOSw7W5XNkgg
It is indeed the correct one - it mates with the phone connector shown in the first post.
