Default 996 GT3 Wheels on a NB 2001 Carrera 4?

Does anyone know whether a set of 996 GT3 wheels with GT3 stock tires sizes - 235/40/18 & 295/30/18 - will fit and work properly on the AWD model?

Stock Carrera 4 sizes were 225/40/18 & 265/35/18 or 285/35/18.

One of the calculators indicates there would be a 1.2% higher circumference in the front and 1.2% less circumference in the rear with the GT3 set when compared to the original C4 set up. Also, the circumferences may vary with the particular tire brand and model selected.

A tech mentioned that with AWD, the tire circumference must be identical or close to original tire circumferences or the AWD computer becomes confused and generates warning lights.

Has anyone successfully run the GT3 wheel and tire set on a NB Carrera 4?

Thanks.

I can't speak to the C4 specifically but on my NB C2 I run ET38 setup on the front with no rubbing issues at all (and my car is lowered to Cup car ride height). GT3 fronts are ET40 so they are 2mm further in than ET38. That said I am unsure if the C4 has the same front offsets as the C2. I do know (as you stated) the outer circumference is on C4 front wheels is critical to the front drive gear ratios, so be careful with that.

If it is the same offset as C2 you will be fine. I have 996.2 GT3 wheels on mine and they fit perfect with 5mm spacer in rear

I am running what I was told were gt spec wheels on my 2004 C2 with no rubbing at all. They are 19", offset 50 on front, 8.5" wide and 64 on rear at 11" wide (no spacers). Tires are 235/35/19 & 295/30/19

Yes, your tech is correct.
Or at least that is correct for most AWD cars.

Wondering if you ever went through with this. Looking to do the same and hoping the wheels and tires swap with, at most, a 15mm spacer on the rear. Can anyone confirm? Sorry to revisit an old thread but I cannot sent PM's yet and it sounds like the only way is to start posting more. Here I go! -ED

On a nb u will not need any spacers in the rear with a 11x18 et63 rim. I would say a 10-15 front spacer would be good.

I ran GT3 sized wheels (Forgelines) w/no spacers on my tracked 996.2. There was zero rubbing.

I currently run 235x40-18 on the front and 285x35-18 Michelin P-S4 on my 2001 C4. This combo complies with the diameter closeness requirement for the AWD. my fronts are 50 offset and the rears are 65. I get no rubbing. I drive it hard. Bilstein B8 shocks all round.
No spacers
